Mp3 Toys
July 1, 2007 |
I have tried practically every Mp3 jukebox that I have found. There are some that are wonderfully designed, there are some that are bastards of many a generations of coding and there are those that are “kinda cool”. Whether its the big boys like MusicMatch, Napster, Rhapsody, Windows Media or iTunes. Or the smaller players like Quintessential or WinAmp none seem to be able to handle a very large library well. I have almost 200gigs of music that I have painstakingly collected over the last 7 years. It’s not a small library and due to it’s large size these applications all seem to choke. Either they run incredibly slow or start-up incredibly slow or simply lack the features that matter to me I have had a terrible time finding a music manager / player that worked well. Until I found Mp3 Toys.
While not the prettiest UI it is very fast and has some great features that the bigger players lack. The automatic album art finder for instance is great even if it is a bit clunky (hard to edit). The speed and usability is the best aspect of Mp3Toys. If they offered more skins and more flexibility in the features it would make it stellar but for now it is just great.
